Riga, the beautiful capital of Latvia bears several signatures of History. The 1905 revolution monument in Riga remembers January 13, 1905 when peaceful demonstrators were attacked by Russian military force near the River Daugava. They were killed by bullets and others fell through the ice in the river and drowned, at least 70 people died and another 200 were injured. The Latvian people were assembled to show solidarity to Russian peaceful protestors who were slaughtered by their tsar on bloody Sunday January 9th in St Petersburg, only to share same fate! We felt the monument stands to give a strong message of solidarity of common hardworking man throughout the world.

Stockholm. We have really cheap cruises to Helsinki, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. I’ve done the first 2 but not the others.

I know, I live in stockholm 😊❄️, but cruise don’t go to vilnius I think. It goes till Riga. From there you can take a bus or train, which is cheap around 12euro person.
