Krakow is the most vibrant city in Poland, and all year around homes many festivals. We were lucky to see the pierogi festival this year.Pierogis are famous Polish dumplings. These savories are variously filled with cheese or meat and available nearly everywhere. But the ones at the Pierogi Festival are said to be the best of the best. This year the festival was held from 11-15 August in Maly Rynek square in Krakow, just behind the old market square. Along with feasts and culinary competitions, the Small Market Square also hosts a programme of artistic and musical events.
There were many variations of the filling, starting from pork, chicken, cabbage, spinach , potato & cheese.I liked the chicken pierogis most. Here are some photos …

when I lived in Nebraska growing up, pierogis were popular, and still are.

We have a similar dumpling here in India, we call it “MOMO” and it is super delicious. It also comes in two forms fried or boiled. Pretty similar to pierogi

I do like pierogi! Used to eat it often when at university from the Polish stall where the store holders cooked them fresh on order.
