Christmas market in Toulouse…

As everybody knows German Christmas markets are the best. But French are not far behind. I never spent a Christmas in Paris, but Toulouse does have a nice christmas market.

Every year, the christmas market is held in the big square in Capitol called Place du Capitole, the very heart of Toulouse. It is connected by both toulouse metro lines to every corner of the city. It displays ocal woodcrafts as well as regional specialities (foie gras, preserves, cakes, breads etc.), but also toys, pottery, jewellery, candles, clothing and leather goods.While browsing  through the stalls, you can have traditional grilled chestnuts, accompanied by a hot chocolate, coffee or stop for a gluhwein  at one of the “chalet-bars” while admiring the twinkling decorations and illuminations. I am sharing our album from past, 2014 Christmas market.

 

Christmas Markets in France is known as marché de noël. They are ideal to replenish your wine stocks for the Christmas season. French Christmas markets have much to offer the visitor in terms of the varied ambience depending on which part of France they are located. In toulouse, there are many games and marry-go-round and skiing for children and foods, drinks and handicrafts for all…

 

 

 

There are many small bands, playing christmas musics along with several street artists. The lights make the square and narrow streets around the square truly magical… if you are spending holiday season in southern France, please stop a day in Toulouse  to enjoy the Christmas market..
