Notre Dame is the one place in Paris I really liked. Luckily it was cleaner , no beggar bumped on us, no push seller disturbed us. I really appreciated that.
The cathedral is built on French Gothic architecture, and it is among most well-known church buildings in the world. The naturalism of its sculptures and stained glass are in contrast with earlier Romanesque architecture earlier I have shown you in Sagrada Familia . The church is just in the bank of Saine river, and you can walk to the love lock bridge from here.
We went from the Eiffel tower to the Notre Dame by Rear train, which takes 15 -20 minutes, the station itself called by the name ” Saint michel Notre Dame . It cost 1.80 euro per person. Louvre museum , Love lock bridge and the seine river cruise , all are walkable from the church. Entry to the church is free, but if you want to go upstairs, you need to pay .
This church is built after old church St stephens was demolished. Wiki says ” It seems likely therefore that the faults with the previous structure were exaggerated by the Bishop to help justify the rebuilding in a newer style” and “To begin the construction, the bishop had several houses demolished and had a new road built in order to transport materials for the rest of the cathedral” . Anyway I found it beautiful and in your paris visit you should not miss this church.

My husband brought me the paint brush and colours in the weekend as I was upset. So, I started painting notre dame, then I thought it ll be a good post too.

How much of our history is in the decoration of this church? Makes me wonder…
Thank you.

I never tire of looking at the exquisite sculptures in Notre Dame. They are carved and chiseled out of love and tell many stories.
