Quick tips for Munich…

Munich: the city by the Monks

1.Buy the ISAR card, most of the tourist interests are situated in the inner district, so you can get a ticket for one week for the 1-4 zone , costs 21.1 €, [and  6.4€ one day /per person]  and cover most of the places. It is cheaper than multi-tickets or city cards. It is important to check the zones according to the place you are staying, as the fare changes according to zones. But wherever u stay, it is win-win

2.Don’t miss the places you can visit for free , the list is long.

The Viktulienmarkt, Marienplatz , Frauenkirche, Rathaus-Glockenspiel, Asamkirche, BMW Welt, Olympiapark, Heiliggeistkirche, The Sendlinger Tor ( city gate), The Siegestor are very important points of interests in Munich, all for free.

3. Enjoy the Munich Panorama for 2€.

Munich Panorama

All you have to do is to go to the St. peter kirche, buy a ticket in front of the staircase and go atop. Breathtaking panorama of Munich awaits for you.

4. Use Bayern ticket to see Bavaria and surrounding countries . Neuschwanstein Castle and Rottenberg ob der Tauber  are two fine options for day trip from Munich. Then there is Bamberg and romantic road. If you want to visit another country, that is also possible through this ticket, like salzburg. 28 € for two both ways fare to any of these places. Bus from Füsen to Neuschwanstein is also included.

5. Do some shopping.

Marienplatz is the place. Well connected by U and S-bahn, it is the shopping destination for travellers worldwide. Things for any budgets are  readily available. Also eat pretzels and enjoy the street side music shows.

6. Do not miss Dachau Memorial site. I think in these days of social unrest and intolerance, everyone should visit this kind of memorial sites projecting how frightening and unbearable a war can be!! For your own soul visit this memorial site, so that never again such crisis of humanity can occur and we all can fight together against the enemy of humanism.

I clicked this blood red -berries in Dachau Memorial site, reminding me the bloodshed of thousands of innocent lives

Munich is one of my favourite city I like to simply spend time walking around. But for few days trip, I think this tips will help you to make the most of your trip.
