Photo-Tale of Toulouse..

Pont Neuf: La Garonne

Toulouse is the capital of France’s southern Midi-Pyrénées region and a nice French Metro to live. Being fourth largest Metropolitan of France, it has all the comforts of  a metro, yet far from the hustle and bustle of Paris. River Garonne flows bisecting the city and offers a photogenic face of the city at night with all the lamps on and their golden shades falling on the black river water..

Ramonville Metro station and Parking area

The Ramonville is the end point of Metro B and holds one of the biggest parking area of the city. Just by the side, flows the Canal du Midi, I have shared the pictures of the canal already. In summer evenings, the place glows with the soft twilight and a nice place for evening stroll.

Toulouse has the biggest space industry in Europe. The aerospace companies are gathered here, along with research institutes and student programs. Study programs are not so helpful for the non-french students, I will talk about that later. But the university campus is beautiful.

The city of Toulouse has an unique architecture made of pinkish small red terracotta bricks, which earned it the nickname la Ville Rose. The typical French built is easily identifiable, in the old part of the city. Along with that, the modern architecture is used to build the new offices , university buildings and hospital buildings.

The Sunday Flea market around the Basilica of Saint Sernin offers varied goods. The freshly baked breads and fresh herbs are the pick of choice. You will get very nice leather bags brought here from Africa, and the price is quite reasonable.

Best bread in Toulouse: @capitole

In front of the Capital, few temporary shops are for breads, pastry and other food items. They are very fresh and best in toulouse, and far cheaper than Auchan or Carrefour. And they sells such nice croissant, I love them.

Jardin des plantes

Touluse has many green parks, Jardin Des plants is the biggest one. It is closed around 6 pm. So you must get early. It has some nice relics along with lots of greenary, flowers in summer , fountains and nice lamps.

Kebab and fries

Near the river, we had a place who sold nice chicken kebab and fries. It is quite tasty and the cook is from Bangladesh. He loves to talk with the customers and sometimes share a drink with them.. He treated us with nice Tolosa coffee one day as we do not drink, and then refused to take money for the coffee… Told ya! never know where you get random act of kindness 😀

Toulouse panorama

We went above a shopping mall to the roof to get a better view of the city. It was nice and sunny, but not compared to the roof of a hospital, where we went to the rooftop directly by an elevator! Of course, nobody knew, silly 😉  !!

t1-t2

Apart from, the metro line A & B, there are two lines of Tram, t1 and t2. We never used the tram, as my hospital and k’s college both were out of the tram route. But as the ride is included in the city-pass, we went through the whole route  just the day before we left

Best fresh pastry in Toulouse

Another nice garden in Toulouse is Japanese garden, I will show you later. It is towards the airport. Outside the park, there is this little cafe. I have not eaten so soft, so fresh and so tasty pastry, all over toulouse. The lady working there was also very nice .

Metro A

Before coming back, we did some random trip using the city pass. And saw some nice suburbs ( those rides are included in the card) with some nice condos. Overall, if you know French, Toulouse is a fine place to live in France.

    1. I am so agreed with you. When I was writing the post, I was exactly thinking the same thing, each and every city has something to offer. If you have the eyes, you get to see it 😊 however nondescript the city may appear.
