I went to the Louvre Museum in my last day in Paris. I know, it is not possible to see the Museum in a day. But we tried to spend the whole day from morning till it closed, hoping to do some justice to us 😛
And still we was not able to see it whole ,nor I will be able to post the whole of it together , so first comes the outside view of Louvre which is no less amazing than the inside.
The Louvre is one of the world’s largest museums and a historic monument. Located on the bank of the Seine in the 1st district,it is well accessible to the tourists by Metro and REAR . It spreads over an area of 60,600 square metres and it is world’s most visited museum.
The museum is housed in a fortress built in the late 12th century under Philip II. Remnants of the fortress are still visible in the basement of the museum though I could not make to it.
Louvre has an entry fee of 12 euro for adults, but it offers free entry to the kids below 18 years, the students younger than 26 years, to the French teachers, to the artists ,to disabled individuals & their companions everyday and for all in the first Sunday of every month. I was not there on 1st Sunday, but I was on a Friday when it is open till 9.45 pm (Friday &Wednesday). Museum is closed on Tuesdays.
