Lasagne originated in Italy, traditionally ascribed to the city of Naples, where the first modern recipe was created and published and became a traditional dish.Some say the term “lasagna” comes from the Greek word, “lasagnum,” meaning dish or bowl. I have also heard that there was some dispute about Lasagne ‘s origin between England and Italy But I don’t really bother about the history, I loved the Italian version very much. I think Italian deserve the right over all as they celebrate July 29th as National Lasagna Day.
It is a flat pasta created by alternate layers of lasagne sheets and vegetable, meat, cheese and sauce in between to create a yummy dish. It is important to have correct amount of sauce so that pasta dough is adequately soaked. I enjoyed the dish very much, and recommend to taste it , if you are visiting the country side of Southern Italy.
