Indian Museum is the largest and the oldest Museum in the Indian subcontinent and also in the Asia-Pacific region of the world.Founded in 1814 at the cradle of the Asiatic Society of Bengal (at the present building of the Asiatic Society, 1 Park Street, Kolkata), it has paved the way for 400 current museums in India. I am particularly interested in the Archaeology sections of the Museum which has archaeological remnants from all over the country from all major historical periods. So one fine morning I just took a cab to the museum to ‘visit the past’. And here comes a glipmse of what I got there. 🙂
“With the foundation of Indian Museum in 1814, the Museum movement started rolling in India and through the years from then, got a new fillip and great momentum.” The entry fee is awesomely less, only 2 Euro per person. I have visited few museums in Europe who are taking at least 7 to 10 Euros per person , without even a notable collection of antics. You can also take a guided tour.
